History

Harrison Street Park is one of the Village of Croton-on-Hudson's small neighborhood playgrounds, tucked into the corner where Harrison Street meets Grand Street — the stretch of Grand that carries State Route 129 through the upper village. The two ways the village has described the corner over the years — "Harrison and Grand Street" on today's parks page, "Harrison Street and Route 129" in the 2013 Parks & Trails Guide — are the same corner under two names.

The village's 2003 Comprehensive Plan records it as a 0.3-acre playground park and notes playground equipment improvements completed in 2001 as part of a run of village park upgrades around the turn of the millennium. No published account of the park's founding date was found; it appears consistently in village park inventories from at least 2000 onward.
